Flood City Café opened with the idea of putting our great community at the focus of our business plan. We wanted to give the city of Johnstown a café that they could be proud of. A cafe’ to enjoy quality food and beverages, relax by the fireplace, read a book on the loft, or discuss plans of our city’s great future.
Flood City Café opened its doors in February of 2013, in Downtown Johnstown. Owned and operated by Dan Shaffer & David Wilhelm, Flood City Café quickly became one of Johnstown’s favorite breakfast, brunch and lunch spots serving up the finest local food, in a fun, casual atmosphere.
May 30, 2019 the cafe was bought by local Kristy Hagan who had a vision to continue what was already greatly established and expand upon. GATHER at Flood City Cafe was born, with an overall feeling that any and everyone is welcome to come and GATHER at the cafe.
The cafe continues to be a space for community. They planted themselves into the community and established a vision where anyone could feel like they were a part of something special in the city.
Today, after serving thousands of cups of coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods, our core value in creating a space where community comes first could never be more true. City leaders, and world changers meet daily in our space, creating and planning for the future of our already amazing city.

GATHER at Flood City Café offers hand-crafted espresso drinks, delicious baked good treats, and freshly roasted direct trade coffee.
Our coffee menu features tasty flavored lattes and smoothies. The cafe’ is a lively gathering place for our community and our Baristas strive to get to know our customers as individuals, starting with their names, tastes, and drinks of choice.
Our kitchen serves up some of the finest panini sandwiches, fresh homemade soups, and crisp garden fresh salads. We regularly release seasonal menus featuring amazing seasonal specialties that are truly unforgettable.
The cafe’ is open Monday- Friday 7am-2pm.
